ABOUT THE CLASS

This course is challenging and designed to be counted as high school credit, however mature and striving middle school students are welcome to take this opportunity and will do well!

We start by studying the earth’s crust, exploring plate tectonics and learning about rock composition along with fossil and rock records. Students learn about the hydrosphere, exploring the ocean and climate.

Then we explore the atmosphere, weather and then move outward to explore the solar system. We finish the year by discussing a bit of what is known about the universe.

For the exams middle school students can take the test open notes but high school students will not. Both the old earth and young earth theories, which include creationism and intelligent design, will be presented in a fair manner. The author Jay Wile is a Christ follower and I, your teacher, am as well. Family discussion through this material is encouraged.
