This is a high school level survey of World History. For scope and sequence please see the textbook table of contents. We will follow closely the contents of the Notgrass curriculum, Exploring World History (2014 edition), which includes the two-volume textbook and a book of primary source readings entitled, In Their Words.

 

Our goal is to cover the material in the textbooks through weekly assignments of reading with study questions while focusing on selected topics in more detail at our class meetings. There will be a few essays and/or written report assignments in addition to the regular textbook assignments.

 

A major goal of the class will be to correct some of the misinformation of current, politically-correct, revised versions of world history and to impart an appreciation of the positive influence of Christianity on the history of the world. A main emphasis will be the study of the origin, rise, and fall of the dominant worldviews throughout the history of the world.

1. Textbooks: Exploring World History by Ray Notgrass (2014 edition) which includes two textbook volumes and a volume of primary source readings entitled In Their Words. Parents will not need test booklets.
