About the Class

God has placed something unique and valuable in each and every one of us. These unique interests, passions, gifts, and voices are what this class is all about. We want to hear YOUR voice!

Using  favorite literature as inspiration, students will investigate what  authors do well. We will then practice and develop those literary skills in students' writing. We will work as a group to write drafts of all different types of writing to  persuade, inform, and entertain readers. There will be lots of freedom and choice as we aim to honor each unique voice and celebrate our passions and interests.

Because God has placed something valuable and unique in each of us, students will be asked to create writing projects that they can share in a variety of ways - at the comfort level and choice of each student.

This is going to be FUN! Being together is a chance for us to develop friendships and learn how to work with partners and as a group, which will be another focus of this class. Students will write with partners and as groups and practice encouraging and building up their classmates through positive feedback.
